Saturday, February 10, 2024
2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Tuition: $40 Materials: $10
Combine your love of snow with artistry and teamwork in this introduction to snow sculpting. *This class is dependent on adequate snow accumulations. Students will be notifiied of cancellation and refunded one week in advance.
The instructor will provide hands-on training and the materials needed for students to create a snow sculpture in the pocket park, outside the Ely Folk School. The instructor will talk through the creation process and help you figure out how to turn your snow carving ideas into a reality.
Although formal instruction time will go from 2pm-5pm, participants will need more time to complete the sculpture. The final touches will be left for students to create and finish on their own time after class.
The Ely Folk School will have the snow block ready and major tools to use. Students should bring an extra pair of gloves or mittens and dress appropriately for the cold weather as this class will be held outside in the snow for a few hours. Wear plenty of layers! If you have shovels or personal tools, please label and bring them to use! Students can also bring a horse brush, small hand saw, small shovel, larger scoop shovel, and any other tool they think would be useful.
