Swedish Holiday Traditions and Saint Lucia Choir

Tuition: $28 Materials: $3 (free for students enrolled in Swedish Saint Lucia Rolls)

Celebrate the season by joining in the festivities surrounding the Swedish holiday of Saint Lucia. This Scandinavian holiday combines traditional song, food, and costume. Learn about the religious history and how Saint Lucia has evolved in modern times, while sampling delicious rolls made by the morning's students. The class will end with a singing portion, where students are guided in Swedish song--instructor LynnAnne will provide pronunciation directions so no previous experience is required!

Age Suggestion:

About your instructor: LynnAnne Vesper is has a long-standing interest in Scandinavian languages and cultures going back to 1984. She speaks Swedish fluently. She has been helping people enjoy the natural world for over 20 years as a guide for canoe and dogsledding trips in the Boundary Waters.

Note: Be aware we may cancel class if a minimum number of registrations is not reached. We work to balance teachers’ need to plan for a class with students’ busy schedules — not an easy task. Please register as early as possible!
