The student will then learn to complete a collar or leash using the newly woven band. Recommended for older teens to adult students. This is a beginners and up class. This class requires some moderate hand strength. The material fee will be paid directly to instructor depending on weaving project that is chosen. Student can expect to pay either $5.00 for a collar or $10.00 for a leash (excludes the hardware). Depending on what the student chooses to weave, they should bring an old pet collar or leash that will be taken apart for the hardware, scissors, ruler/tape measure, pencil/pen, bag lunch, and magnifiers to help see while weaving.
*Students should bring a bag lunch or money to walk to a nearby coffee shop for lunch.*

About the Instructor: Diane Thomson I enjoy many of the fiber arts and learned to weave in high school. I rediscovered weaving in 1985 when I purchased my 1st floor loom. I spent most of my early weaving time on rag rugs until the 90’s when I focused on spinning and knitting. I'm predominantly a knitter now but have recently returned to weaving. Since I have retired to Ely, I've finally been able to spend more time expanding my knowledge in different areas of fiber arts.
