Nature Writing: Water Reflections

Description

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2025
10:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Standard Tuition: $52

In spring, when rivers crest their banks and ice-bound lakes break free, the life-giving element of water reminds us to let go and follow the flow of our imagination. Receive water’s nourishing gift through nature writing at the Ely Folk School on the edge of the Boundary Waters Wilderness. You will cultivate written pieces in a supportive group circle through reading, discussion, contemplation and free-flowing writing exercises. This class will focus primarily on the early stages of the writing process and include time to share our work. You’ll also have the opportunity to read a piece of writing from an author that you find especially inspiring. We will take a break and enjoy lunch together at a local venue.
