Wontons are a quintessential authentic Chinese dumpling with minced meat inside and a thin flour wrapping. They can be steamed, deep-fried, or boiled to make them silky soft.
In this class, you’ll learn the basics of how to make wontons. We will prepare a filling (which is traditionally pork based, but can be vegetarian) and you will learn various folding shapes and techniques to create your own. Bring them home to eat the next day or put in your freezer and enjoy when you’re ready! We will also sample both savory and sweet wontons during the class, steamed and fried.
You will also learn several ways to make different dipping sauces and we will discuss soup recipes for dumplings.
I source my ingredients from self forged or self grown, local and humanely raised animals. That reflects my supply cost.
