Rosettes are of Scandinavian origin but must have found their place in German society over 100 years ago--they are well known in Germany. Rosette cookies are light, crisp puffs of deep-fried pastry. The batter is thin and the special flower shape is created with an iron. Join us at the Ely Folk School for this demonstration style class in our kitchen with Nick Peterson, who will be whipping up rosettes and showing us cooking-show style how to get that delicate, golden, finish. There should be plenty to sample for everyone who joins.
About your instructor: Nick Peterson learned how to make rosettes from his grandmother. She would have been 136 years old now!
