Astrophotography for Beginners

Do you want to photograph the beauty of the night sky? This class, led by two seasoned professional photography instructors will provide a broad astrophotography overview for beginners. The classroom session will offer a range of topics including defining the types of astrophotography, scouting locations, planning and executing the night sky photography, and post processing the images you captured.
This class is a good fit for adults of any experience level--even if you do not consider yourself a photographer.

About your instructors: Les Conrad is a local artist/photographer who focuses on the beauty of the natural world. Les says, “The night sky never ceases to amaze me. We are very lucky to live with some of the darkest night skies around!” Once retired, Les turned his lenses and attention toward nature, wildlife and landscapes, with particular attention to the night sky.
Marc Rassel is a landscape astrophotographer based in Central Minnesota, USA. Recently selected for the Milky Way Photographer of the Year – 7th Edition (2024) he is an award-winning and exhibiting landscape and night sky photographer, whose Milky Way photography has been featured in renowned publications and national juried shows across the United States. He has traveled to and photographed many locations around the world both professionally and personally, and has extensive experience photographing landscapes and the wonders of the night sky in a wide variety of locations and conditions.
