blkkhand Pop-Up Tintype Portait Session

Friday, July 26th and Saturday, July 27th, 2024
10:00 AM - 5:00 PM both days

Join us at the Ely Folk School Friday and Saturday of Blueberry Fest for a pop-up tintype portrait session with blkkhand. Sessions can be booked for 30 minute appointments that includes one tintype from 10am-5pm, or you can try a walk in session from 1-5pm.

What is a tintype? A tintype is a wetplate photo process dating back to the Civil War era. Historically made on enamel-coated tin (or iron), the modern day tintype starts out on a piece of aluminum

About the artist: Carla Alexandra Rodriguez is first generation Venezuelan-American visual artist living and working in Saint Paul, MN. She moved to Minnesota from Houston, Texas to attend the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, and received her BFA in Photography there in 2011.
