Tuition: $24

Embroider your own shoes or boots. Make just a plain pair of tennis shoes into a work of art. You can make them for yourself or a friend or great for granddaughters. You just need a few things and some imagination.
What you will need to bring:
- Pair of cloth shoes or boots with cloth insert
- DMC 6 ply embroidery thread (5-6 colors of your choosing)
- Small curved needle (straight needles are hard to get into the toes of the shoes)
- A pair of light weight rubber fingered gardening gloves (this really helps grip the needle to pull it through the tough fabric and backings in shoes.)
A sheet with basic embroidery stitches you will most likely use in creating your design will be supplied.
About the instructor: Candace Bischoff started her crafting at the age of five when her mother taught her how to knit. Her grandmother introduced her to the sewing machine when she was eight, and she sewed clothing for herself, friends, and acquaintances through high school and college. Candace says, "I love to craft and have tried most media including needlepoint, embroidery cross-stich, knitting, crocheting, beading, macrame, weaving, quilting, drawing with pencil, ink, and colorizing some sketches, I am in the process of teaching my 11-year old granddaughter how to knit--a challenge!" Candace looks forward to sharing her many skills and short cuts with folk school students.
