Visit cattail swamps and find food and useful household items. We will learn together about indigenous people’s uses for cattails and the variety of foods contained in the roots, stalks, and flowering parts. We’ll return to the Folk School to create useful items and have a snack, the details of which will depend on the cattails’ stage of development. Wear footwear for mucking about. A pocket knife may also be helpful. (And probably bug dope or head net.)
