Create a Blue Magnesite Necklace

For the look of turquoise without the expense, create a simple strand of blue magnesite with glass, stone and metal beads interspersed in the necklace to accent the variation in color of the stones. Several different styles of the stone will be available to fit differing tastes. This is a basic beading course and can easily be mastered by individuals with no previous beading experience. Students will learn about what cords and closures work for which types of projects, and good sources for supplies for other projects.

Recommended for ages 13 and up. No experience needed.

About the Instructor: Kay Vandervort retired to Ely in 2014 and years has become involved in the community. She participates in American Association of University Women, works part time at the Dorothy Molter Museum, and is involved in book club, writing group, and a number of local discussion groups. She enjoys experimenting with a variety of craft media.
