You will leave this class with knowledge of which crops work well to start indoors from seed, materials needed for seed starting, and hands-on experience with indoor seed starting. Bring your curiosity, we will have ample time for question and discussion.
About the Instructor, Ellen Root: From 2014-2020 I co-owned Northern Delicious CSA, a 3-acre vegetable farm located near Babbitt, MN. At its peak the farm provided fresh, local, in-season vegetables and greens to over 100 local families and individuals through weekly Community Supported Agriculture share boxes and farmers market sales. I no longer farm on a large scale and instead enjoy gardening in smaller spaces. I start a wide variety of seeds indoors every spring, including garden vegetables, greens, and native perennial wildflowers and grasses.
