Whether your garden is 3 acres or 3 square feet, you can maximize your food and flower production with a little bit of planning. This class will cover when and where to plant a variety of crops, the importance of allowing enough space between plants, how to grow multiple crops in succession in the same garden bed, and sources for purchasing or swapping seeds.
About the Instructor, Ellen Root: From 2014-2020 I co-owned Northern Delicious CSA, a 3-acre vegetable farm located near Babbitt, MN. At its peak the farm provided fresh, local, in-season vegetables and greens to over 100 local families and individuals through weekly Community Supported Agriculture share boxes and farmers market sales. I no longer farm on a large scale and instead enjoy gardening in smaller spaces. I start a wide variety of seeds indoors every spring, including garden vegetables, greens, and native perennial wildflowers and grasses.
