Brazilian Dinner Party Fundraiser

Description

Did somebody say educational dinner party?!?!

This will be an evening of celebration and fun among friends and new acquaintances as we enjoy quintessential Brazilian food and drink, while learning about Brazilian folk art – according to an amateur student of the world's fifth-largest country by area and seventh most populous. This dinner party will include a social hour, as well as a presentation by Lacey about what exposure to Brazilian folk art has meant to her, and what it all has to do with the Ely Folk School.

This event is a fundraiser for the Ely Folk School. The cost of registration will go entirely to supporting Ely Folk School programming and operations. Participants will receive one caipirinha cocktail, one heart of palm appetizer, an entree of feijoada and fixings, dessert, and non-alcoholic beverages. The cost of materials has been donated, and the food will be prepared by Lacey Squier, Rosa Oesterreich, and generous Ely Folk School volunteers. Additional caipirinhas and wine will be available in exchange for an additional donation.

Note the feijoada (a black bean and meat stew) can be made vegan, but the heart of palm appetizer contains gluten, and cannot be made gluten free. Please indicate all of your party’s dietary restrictions in detail in the registration form.

Furthermore, note that the cost of registration is discounted with each additional ticket purchased. If you’re interested in attending, find a friend or two to join you and you’ll save money! This event has limited capacity, so pre-registration is required. The deadline to register is Tuesday, February 27.
